French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced today that France intends to supply Ukraine with 50 AASM (Armement Air-Sol Modulaire) precision-guided bombs monthly, starting from January and continuing for a year.

Lecornu stated, “France will begin supplying Ukraine with 50 AASM bombs monthly starting in January for the duration of the year.”

Earlier, Lecornu had remarked that the Ukrainian army had not met the expectations set during last year’s counteroffensive against Russian forces. He told “Le Parisien” newspaper, “The counteroffensive launched by Kyiv did not achieve the desired results.”

He noted that the conflict is now considered “frozen,” and Paris will provide Kyiv with 40 Scalp precision-guided missiles in the first half of 2024.

The AASM is a smart bomb guided by satellite navigation systems, including GPS, making it highly maneuverable.
