Meteorological authorities have issued a fresh round of weather warnings for the next two days as France grapples with the aftermath of powerful storms.

As of Monday, a staggering 69 departments have been placed on alert, spanning a significant portion of the country from the northeast border with Belgium to the southwest regions.

Out of the total, fifteen departments are under the second-highest level of alert (orange), urging residents to exercise extreme caution while venturing outside.

The weekend witnessed several departments on orange alert status as violent storms ravaged the nation, even striking the capital city, Paris. Some regions experienced winds surpassing 100 km/h (62 mph), and reports emerged of large hailstones wreaking havoc in the Cher department.

The impending weather warnings serve as a reminder for residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety in the face of potential further disruptions caused by severe weather conditions.
