UNRWA: Israeli Soldiers Fired at Aid Convoy

The head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)has accused Israeli soldiers of firing at an aid convoy in Gaza.

In a post on X, Thomas White said the convoy was returning from northern Gaza “along a route designated by the Israeli Army,” when it was shot at.

“Our international convoy leader and his team were not injured but one vehicle sustained damage,” the UNRWA official said. “Aid workers should never be a target.”

Since the beginning of its aggression on Gaza on October 7, the Israeli military has hit hospitals, mosques, churches, residential buildings, and other civilian targets, acting in violation of international law.

The United Nations and other international entities and human rights groups have repeatedly stated that there are no safe places in Gaza.

According to a CNN investigation published on December 21, Israel has also stricken “locations in Gaza to which it had ordered civilians to evacuate.”

Gaza’s Ministry of Health revealed that a total of 21,507 Palestinians had been killed, and 55,915 wounded in Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza starting on October 7.

Palestinian media sources report that the number of journalists killed since the onset of the aggression on Gaza has risen to 105. The Israeli military has announced the activation of warning sirens in settlements surrounding Gaza.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry holds the Israeli government responsible for the catastrophic situation in Gaza, accusing it of deliberately creating an environment conducive to the spread of deadly epidemics in the region.
