The General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA) has commended the efforts of Libya’s 6+6 Joint Committee, formed of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the High Council of State (HCS), to prepare Libyan election laws, describing their efforts as a significant step towards conducting elections.

In a statement released on Friday, The General Command expressed its support for any dialogue and reconciliation initiatives aimed at ending the political divisions in the country. It emphasised that the committee’s work represents a crucial milestone in paving the way for presidential and parliamentary elections.

Furthermore, the General Command affirmed its endorsement of sincere political solutions to resolve the political crisis in Libya. It emphasised the importance of inclusive electoral laws to ensure timely elections and the implementation of their outcomes.

The General Command called for swiftly addressing the state of political division and form a new government comprised of technocrats. This government would be responsible for overseeing the organisation of elections across the entire country, aiming to bring stability and unity to Libya.
