Chinese Ambassador in Damascus Shi Hongwei emphasized the depth of the strong relations between Syria and China, stressed the importance of security cooperation to combat terrorism.
Syrian Minister of Interior, Muhammad Khalid Rahmun, discussed with Hongwei the mutual cooperation between the two countries and ways to develop it in various fields, particularly in the security domain, counterterrorism, and combating various types of crimes, according to the official news agency SANA.
Rahmun expressed the ministry’s keenness to provide all necessary facilities for Chinese citizens residing in Syria and address issues related to them.
He expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Chinese government for standing with the Syrian people and leadership in their fight against terrorism. He also commended China’s support for the Syrian government’s efforts to overcome the consequences of the devastating earthquake that hit Syria last February, as well as its provision of humanitarian aid to the affected.
For his part, the Chinese Ambassador confirmed the depth of the strong relations between the two friendly countries and China’s support for Syria, including the provision of humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people. He stressed the importance of security cooperation in eliminating terrorism.
