Palestinian Health Minister Calls for International Probe into Reports of Israeli Army Burying Wounded Alive Near Kamal Adwan Hospital, Gaza

In a press statement released today, Palestinian Health Minister Mai Al-Kaila urged for an international investigation into allegations that the Israeli army buried living wounded individuals at the site of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.

Minister Al-Kaila stated, “Information and testimonies from citizens, medical teams, and media indicate that the occupation forces buried citizens alive in the hospital courtyard, and some were seen alive before being besieged by the occupation.”

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry also demanded an “immediate international investigation into the news of heinous and horrifying crimes committed by the occupation forces at Kamal Adwan Hospital.”

Earlier today, the Islamic Jihad Movement condemned the Israeli army’s actions around Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Gaza Strip, including the demolition of tents of displaced people and the mishandling of the bodies of the deceased, as “a heinous crime and inhumane behavior, revealing an unprecedented level of criminality and terrorism.”

The movement’s statement highlighted, “The atrocities uncovered by media reports are part of the crime and holocaust our people in Gaza are facing amid deliberate media blackout and communication disruption.

Such criminal acts will not deter our people from resistance, nor will these policies succeed in killing the spirit of resistance.”

Hamas, the Palestinian movement, held the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden jointly responsible with Israel for the “crime” at Kamal Adwan Hospital.

Hamas stated, “Reports and witness testimonies from inside Kamal Adwan Hospital confirm the perpetration of a horrific massacre by the occupation army… These and other atrocious crimes committed by the criminal army throughout the Gaza Strip are war crimes and crimes against humanity.”

The movement added, “We hold President Biden’s administration responsible for these massacres, and the international community and the United Nations accountable for failing to provide minimum protection for our people, leaving them exposed to the crimes of this fascist entity that kills hundreds of our people daily.”

The Israeli army had stormed Kamal Adwan Hospital last week following several days of siege, prompting WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to call for the hospital’s protection.

On Tuesday, the World Health Organization reported that only 11 out of 36 hospitals in the Gaza Strip were partially functioning, with one in the north and ten in the south.
