The military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Saraya Al-Quds, declared on Wednesday that they had downed and seized control of an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle.
The announcement, shared by the Palestinian Media Center on the “X” platform (formerly known as Twitter), specified that the drone, a “Skylark” model, was brought down by the group.
In a related development, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, reported targeting an Israeli bulldozer east of Deir al-Balah city with a Yasin 105 projectile.
The Al-Qassam Brigades also claimed that their fighters had killed nine Israeli soldiers and destroyed or damaged 22 vehicles in various incursions in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.
On the Israeli side, a senior military official reported on Wednesday that during an ongoing raid in a specific area within the Al-Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces discovered weapons and infrastructure associated with terrorists.
The official, speaking to journalists, noted that no combat occurred inside the hospital complex after the soldiers’ arrival overnight, and there were no encounters with medical staff or patients.
However, the Israeli military threatened on Wednesday to expand its operations in the Al-Shifa Hospital following its breach and searches for Hamas members.
An unnamed Israeli security official stated that the Israeli operation in the “Al-Shifa” hospital might be expanded if necessary, indicating the army’s precise knowledge of what they expect to find there.
Concurrently, a human rights observatory accused the Israeli military of transforming the buildings of the Al-Shifa medical complex in Gaza into a detention and abuse center after its incursion on Wednesday.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, in a press statement on Wednesday, strongly condemned the Israeli military’s forceful entry into the Al-Shifa complex with significant military reinforcements, converting it into a military barracks and a center for detaining and mistreating patients, displaced persons, and medical staff.
