Gaza’s main medical facility, Al-Shifa Hospital, has ceased all medical services following a complete power outage and a shortage of medical supplies, according to a spokesperson for the Health Ministry in Gaza.

The hospital, located in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, is also encircled by Israeli tanks, exacerbating the crisis.

Al-Qudra described the situation around the hospital as resembling a “war zone,” with conditions for the patients being indescribable. He highlighted the dire circumstances, noting that bodies were piling up both inside and outside the hospital, with no one available to bury them.

The Health Ministry spokesperson further reported that the hospital is continuously announcing new deaths due to the inability to perform surgeries, provide oxygen, or even offer heating in neonatal incubators.

The Israeli military is reportedly firing at any moving object around the hospital, adding to the chaos and danger.

International health organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the Red Cross, and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) are reportedly unable to intervene effectively, having lost their capacity to operate in the region.

Further intensifying the situation, Palestinian television reported that three infants and five intensive care patients at Al-Shifa Hospital died due to a lack of oxygen. The Palestinian Health Minister, Mai al-Kaila, warned yesterday of imminent death risks for patients if fuel is not supplied to the hospitals.

In addition, a Hamas Health Ministry official confirmed that an Israeli airstrike destroyed the heart disease department of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex amidst escalating conflicts around the hospitals in Gaza.

Youssef Abu al-Reesh, a ministry official, confirmed the total destruction of the department to the French Press Agency, with eyewitnesses corroborating the airstrike.

This development highlights the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, underscoring the urgent need for international intervention and support to address the dire medical and health situation.
