In continuation of the humanitarian efforts under the campaign “Mercy for Gaza,” the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has dispatched an aircraft carrying 100 tons of food, medical, and relief aid to El-Arish Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
This initiative is part of ongoing humanitarian endeavors aimed at providing essential necessities, including food, medicine, health supplies, and hygiene materials, to the vulnerable populations in Gaza, particularly women, children, and the elderly.
The aid will be delivered to Gaza through the Rafah border crossing, in coordination with the United Nations World Food Programme.
Sultan Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Development and Organizations, stated, “Sending the aid plane is part of the humanitarian situation witnessed in Gaza, and it supports the efforts to provide urgent food and medical supplies to the affected residents of the Gaza Strip. These efforts have been continuous since the beginning of the crisis.”
He further emphasized that the “Mercy for Gaza” campaign, launched last month with significant participation from all segments of society, humanitarian organizations, and volunteers, continues to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
The campaign reflects the UAE’s strong commitment to humanitarian values and solidarity.
