Renault Group and Nissan, longstanding partners with a collaborative history spanning 24 years, have received the regulatory green light to launch a revamped version of their alliance.

This significant development, part of a continuous effort to establish a more balanced partnership, was initially announced in February of this year.

In a joint statement released on Wednesday, both automotive giants, along with Japan’s Mitsubishi, confirmed the official commencement of the New Alliance Agreement.

This newly approved framework replaces previous agreements that governed the alliance’s operations.

Jean-Dominique Senard, chairman of the alliance, underlined the importance of this milestone, revealing that the New Alliance agreement had been formally signed in July.

He emphasized the pivotal role this step plays for Renault Group, Nissan, and Mitsubishi Motors, characterizing it as a crucial foundation for a fair, enduring, and effective partnership.

While Mitsubishi has been a valued partner since 1999, it is noteworthy that the latest announcement does not directly impact the company.

This strategic move represents a forward-looking commitment by Renault and Nissan to foster a more equitable and robust collaboration in the ever-evolving automotive landscape.
