Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati received a crucial phone call from Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, as reported by “Lebanon24”.
The leaders discussed the ongoing situation in Lebanon and Gaza, as well as ongoing peace efforts.
During the conversation, Mikati reiterated the demand for an immediate cessation of the Israeli aggression on Gaza and southern Lebanon. He emphasized that the ongoing deterioration poses a severe threat of escalating the war to the entire region.
In a related move, the Dutch Prime Minister took to the social media platform “X” to share his concerns. His tweet highlighted the distressing developments in Israel and Palestinian territories and the repercussions felt in Lebanon.
Rutte stated, “Spoke with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati about the troubling situation in Israel and Palestinian territories which also affects Lebanon. It’s crucial to prevent further escalation in the region.
Another important topic we discussed is the long-term prospects. The Netherlands advocates for the establishment of a safe state for Palestinians alongside a secure Israel.”
The dialogue between the two prime ministers indicates a concerted effort by international leaders to address the unrest in the Middle East and find a sustainable solution to the hostilities, underscoring the Netherlands’ commitment to long-term stability and peace in the region.
