The Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a stern warning against igniting another major war in the Middle East, calling for a collective effort to resume the negotiation process among the conflicting parties in the region.
In a statement released by Russia Today news channel, the ministry highlighted a significant escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, noting that “Israel commenced a ground military operation in Gaza on October 28, marking a new phase of escalation.” The statement emphasized the international community’s immediate responsibility to “halt bloodshed, protect civilians, and seek a political and diplomatic solution.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry urged intensified efforts to resume negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians, aiming for the realization of the two-state solution endorsed by the United Nations. The ministry pointed out that Russia maintains communication with all relevant parties, contributing to a peaceful resolution and offering its mediation services to resolve the conflict.
Furthermore, the ministry cautioned against the decisions of adventurers attracted to the idea of sparking another large-scale war in the Middle East. It warned that such actions could reverse the positive developmental trajectory of this strategically important region and undermine the gradual improvement in relations between its countries.
By appealing for diplomacy and a peaceful resolution, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement underscores the critical importance of stability in the Middle East, urging the international community to take immediate action to prevent further escalation and loss of life.
