Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his optimism about the potential for a peace deal between Israel and Saudi Arabia, stating that such an agreement would “change history.”
In an interview with Sky News, Netanyahu emphasised the opportunities for advancing peace in the region and improving the well-being of the people of both nations.
Referring to the recent Abraham Accords, in which Israel established diplomatic ties with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan, Netanyahu highlighted the significance of these peace treaties.
He considered the possibility of a peace deal with Saudi Arabia as a “quantum leap forward” due to the country’s influential position in the Arab and Muslim world.
Netanyahu’s comments come amidst ongoing speculation about the potential for normalised relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
