Amir Ohana, the Knesset Speaker from Israel’s Likud Party, is set to embark on an official visit to the Parliament of Morocco in Rabat.

This historic visit marks the first time a Knesset speaker has been invited to a state visit to a Muslim country’s parliament.

Ohana, whose parents hail from Morocco, received the invitation from Rachid Talbi el-Alami, the president of the House of Representatives of Morocco.

During his visit, Ohana will hold meetings with el-Alami, MP Nor-Edin Elhrouchi, and other members of the House of Representatives.

The anticipated signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for inter-parliamentary cooperation aims to strengthen the relationship between Israel and Morocco.

Ohana is also scheduled to hold meetings with senior officials from the Moroccan government and leaders of the Jewish community.
