The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have expressed their concern over the current crisis in Sudan, emphasizing the need for calm and the use of dialogue to unify positions and prevent any external interference that could escalate the conflict and threaten regional peace and security.

This statement was made in a joint communique delivered by the Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman, Ambassador Idris Al-Khanjari, before the Human Rights Council during the interactive dialogue on Sudan.

The statement commended the ongoing diplomatic efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States to bridge differences and prioritize dialogue among Sudanese parties, as it contributes to enhancing the security and stability of Sudan.

At the same time, the statement reaffirmed the GCC countries’ solidarity with the Sudanese people.

In this regard, the international community was called upon to urgently respond to the humanitarian appeal and provide additional humanitarian and medical assistance to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people.
