On Wednesday, dozens of settlers led by the extremist Yehuda Glick stormed the courtyards of the revered Al-Aqsa Mosque.
They were heavily guarded by the Israeli occupation police, who secured their path starting from the Moroccan Gate and ending at the Chain Gate.
The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem confirmed that the settlers performed Talmudic rituals and listened to explanations about the alleged temple.
Since the early morning, occupation forces deployed their elements and special units in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa and at its gates. This move was to ensure the safe intrusion of the extremists.
Restrictions were imposed on worshippers coming from Jerusalem and the territories of ’48, with thorough checks on their IDs and some being detained at the external gates.
It’s worth noting that these intrusions into Al-Aqsa Mosque occur daily, except on Fridays and Saturdays, taking place during both morning and evening times. This is perceived as an attempt to impose temporal and spatial divisions in the mosque.
