The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has issued a stark warning about the terrorist organization ISIS, emphasizing its threat to the security and stability of Syria and the broader region.

The UAE called for vigilance against the menace of chemical terrorism and reiterated its unwavering stance against the use of chemical weapons under any circumstances or by any actor.

In a statement presented before the United Nations Security Council by Rashid Azzam, a member of the UAE’s permanent mission to the United Nations, the UAE expressed its steadfast rejection and condemnation of the use of chemical weapons, regardless of the circumstances or the responsible party.

The UAE stressed that such use constitutes a blatant violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention and international law.

The UAE emphasized the vital importance of continued dialogue between the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and Syria, considering it a fundamental element in making progress on this issue.

The dialogue should be conducted constructively, addressing all avenues to convene the 25th round of consultations and overcoming any obstacles.

The statement underlined that the threats posed by chemical terrorism are concerns that cannot be ignored and require adequate attention, especially with ISIS‘s persistence in carrying out terrorist attacks and its willingness to use any means to achieve its objectives.

This poses a serious threat to Syria’s security and stability, as well as the entire region.

The statement expressed deep concern about the ongoing attacks by ISIS in northeastern Syria, alongside its efforts to rebuild its capabilities, networks, and recruitment of fighters while attempting to release its members from prisons.

The UAE emphasized the necessity of continued efforts to combat this organization and ensure that it does not acquire dangerous and lethal weaponry.

In conclusion, the UAE reiterated the importance of making progress in the chemical weapons dossier in Syria and all matters related to resolving the Syrian crisis.

The statement reflects the UAE’s commitment to regional security and its determination to address the pressing challenges facing the region.

As the situation unfolds, the international community remains focused on countering the threats posed by terrorist organizations like ISIS while seeking a peaceful resolution to the Syrian crisis. Stay tuned for further developments on this matter.
