Al Ahly Football Club is set to host its rival, Wydad Casablanca of Morocco, Sunday, at 9:00 PM at the Cairo Stadium. This highly anticipated encounter is the first leg of the African Champions League final.

This marks the third time Al Ahly and Wydad Casablanca will face off in the finals of this prestigious continental competition. Wydad bested Al Ahly in the 2017 and 2022 editions of the tournament, placing the Egyptian team on a quest for redemption.

Today’s match against Wydad Casablanca is viewed as a vengeful comeback for Al Ahly following their loss of the last edition of the continental title in Casablanca. In contrast, Wydad Casablanca aims to secure a positive result in Cairo, hoping to shake Al Ahly’s net to facilitate their task in the second leg at home.

Wydad has faced a severe setback with Abdullah Haymoud’s critical injury, a severe appendicitis case leading to his hospitalization and undergoing surgery. This situation confirms his absence from the face-off against Al Ahly.

Agreements were reached regarding the uniforms. Al Ahly will don their iconic red jersey, white shorts, and red socks, and the goalkeeper will be fully clad in green. In contrast, Wydad Casablanca will sport a black jersey and shorts with white socks. The team’s goalkeeper will be fully dressed in sky-blue.

Keep an eye on this exciting continental clash, marking a crucial point in the football history of these two renowned African clubs.
