The daughter of Abdullah Al-Senussi, the former intelligence chief under Gaddafi’s regime, has made a plea for the Libyan authorities and the Libyan people to allow her father, who is currently detained, to attend her brother’s funeral.

The appeal comes after the news of the death of Muhammad Abdullah Al-Senussi, the son of Gaddafi’s intelligence chief.

The family of Abdullah al-Senussi has been advocating for his release for several months, expressing concerns about his well-being and fearing that he may face a fate similar to Abu Ajila Masoud al-Marimi, a suspect in the Lockerbie bombing case who was handed over to the US judiciary for trial. Al-Senussi’s name has been mentioned in relation to investigations regarding the infamous incident.

It is worth noting that Abdullah al-Senussi, 72 years old, is currently on trial for his alleged involvement in the suppression of the February revolution that led to the downfall of the former regime in 2011.

He is the husband of Safia Farkash’s sister, Gaddafi’s second wife, and held a prominent position within Gaddafi’s inner circle throughout his 42-year rule. Furthermore, he is still under prosecution by the International Criminal Court.
