In a significant humanitarian effort, the Egyptian Red Crescent in North Sinai has facilitated the entry of 96 aid trucks into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah Border Crossing in North Sinai. This initiative is aimed at providing much-needed relief to the Palestinian brethren in the besieged enclave.
A responsible source in North Sinai reported on Saturday that the convoy included 70 trucks loaded with relief supplies, humanitarian aid, tents, water, food, medicines, and medical equipment. Additionally, 26 commercial trucks were part of the convoy.
The source added that the entry of these trucks was coordinated between the Egyptian Red Crescent, its Palestinian counterpart, and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
The source also noted that relevant authorities had completed procedures at the Al-Ouja crossing for 98 trucks, including 92 aid trucks, two fuel trucks, and four gas trucks for household cooking. These trucks are scheduled to enter the Gaza Strip in the coming hours after traveling from Al-Ouja to the Rafah Border Crossing.
Furthermore, the source announced the dispatch of a new batch of aid trucks to the Al-Ouja crossing for inspection by the other side. This batch comprises 47 trucks with various aid supplies and 35 fully-equipped ambulances, generously donated by the Turkish Red Crescent.
This sizable delivery of humanitarian aid comes as a vital lifeline for the Gaza Strip, which continues to face severe challenges due to ongoing conflicts and blockades. The Egyptian Red Crescent’s initiative underscores the region’s collaborative efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
