The Palestinian Health Ministry reported a harrowing escalation in the death toll amidst the ongoing aggression in Gaza, marking a grim chapter in the current conflict with Israel. As clashes and bombardments continue, there are now reported to be 704 martyrs, including 140 children, a poignant reminder of the real and tragic cost of this conflict.

In a poignant revelation on Monday evening, the Palestinian Health Ministry declared an uptick in the number of victims resulting from the continuing Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip, which has now entered its third day.

The detailed statement from the Palestinian Health Ministry highlighted that the death toll, across Gaza and the West Bank due to persistent Israeli bombardment, has painfully escalated to 704. Notably, amongst these tragic numbers are 140 children and 105 women, illuminating a stark illustration of the civilian impact and the immense human cost of the conflict.

Previous casualty figures from the aggression spoke of the martyrdom of 576 Palestinians and injuries to another 2900, indicating a significant and troubling increase in a short period.

Contrastingly, about 1000 fatalities and 2600 injuries have been reported on the Israeli side in the ongoing operation named “Al-Aqsa Storm”.

It’s imperative to note that confrontations persist between the Palestinian resistance and the occupying forces in the envelope surrounding Gaza. This comes on the third consecutive day since the inception of the “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation.

Hamas, the Islamic Resistance Movement, along with other Palestinian factions in Gaza, inaugurated the military operation “Al-Aqsa Storm” against the occupation in the early hours of the past Saturday. This operation is a retaliation against continuous assaults by Israeli forces and settlers against the Palestinian people, their properties, and their sanctities, most notably the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.

In light of this bleak scenario, the global and regional actors are urged to broker and enforce peace, safeguard civilians, and facilitate humanitarian efforts to prevent further loss and destabilization in the historically and geopolitically sensitive region.

The ongoing confrontation in Gaza, underscored by these tragic figures, signals an urgent plea for the international community to bolster endeavors toward establishing an enduring peace, safeguarding civilian life, and ensuring the stability of the distraught region.
