Six Syrian citizens lost their lives, and two others were injured due to a landmine explosion in the southern countryside of Deir ez-Zur.
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) the six people were killed when a landmine, left behind by ISIS terrorists, detonated in their vehicle in the Hreibsha area of the southern Deir ez-Zur countryside while they were on their way to collect truffles.
Muthanna Al-Yousef, the director of the Al-Assad Hospital in Deir ez-Zur, stated to the agency that the six fatalities arrived at the hospital with shrapnel wounds across various parts of their bodies, and two others were admitted with serious injuries due to the mine explosion.
They have been placed under intensive medical care, according to the director.
A few days prior, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that an attack, likely carried out by ISIS cell members in the Kabajeb desert in the southern countryside of Deir ez-Zur, resulted in the deaths of 34 individuals who were collecting truffles in the area.
