At least five Palestinians were killed, and one critically injured, following an Israeli airstrike targeting a vehicle in the northern West Bank city of Tubas, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent on Thursday.
The Israeli military confirmed the airstrikes, stating that they were aimed at armed militants.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported the fatalities and injuries resulting from the airstrike on the vehicle.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated on the messaging app Telegram that they carried out three “precision airstrikes” targeting armed militants who posed a threat to Israeli soldiers.
Eyewitnesses told AFP that Israeli forces entered the Al-Fara’a refugee camp in Tubas, where explosions were heard during the raid.
This airstrike is part of a broader Israeli military campaign, dubbed “Summer Camps,” launched on August 28, targeting Jenin, Tubas, and Tulkarm in the northern West Bank.
Since the start of the operation, 30 Palestinians have been killed and more than 140 injured, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah.
The violence has escalated in the region, with the Israeli army announcing the death of one of its soldiers in Jenin just days earlier.
This latest development adds to the ongoing conflict and underscores the heightened tensions between Israel and Palestinian territories, as the Israeli military continues its operations in the West Bank amid growing casualties on both sides.
