The Israeli military, on Monday, confirmed the deaths of four of its soldiers in the Gaza Strip battles, bringing the total number of fatalities since 7 October to 458.

The Israeli Army spokesperson allowed the publication of the names of the four soldiers who were killed in action in the Gaza Strip.

The dead forces include Colonel Uriah Baier, 20, from Ma’alot Tarshiha, a member of the Maglan unit. He succumbed to serious injuries sustained in a battle in southern Gaza on December 14, 2023.

Corporal Liav Elosh, 21, from Gedera, a fighter in the Duvdevan unit, was killed in a battle in southern Gaza. Sergeant Eitan Neih, 26, from Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu, also a member of the Duvdevan unit, part of the Commando Brigade, lost his life in southern Gaza.

Lastly, Sergeant Tal Villeva, 23, from Rehovot, serving in the Yahalom unit, Combat Engineering Corps, was also killed in the conflict in southern Gaza.

With the latest announcement from the Israeli military this Monday, the total death toll in their ranks since October 7 has reached 458, and since the start of the ground maneuver in the Gaza Strip on October 27, the number has risen to 126.

This escalation in the conflict highlights the ongoing tension and violence in the region, marking a significant period of loss for the Israeli forces.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council is set to vote on a proposal that calls for Israel and the Hamas movement to allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip via land, sea, and air routes. This proposal also seeks to establish a United Nations mechanism to monitor the delivery of humanitarian aid.
