Four Israeli soldiers were injured when a roadside bomb exploded near their vehicle west of Jenin in the West Bank, according to statements from Palestinian factions and the Israeli military.
On Wednesday afternoon, Palestinian factions claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that their operatives successfully detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) between the village of Barta’a and the Israeli settlement of Hermesh.
The factions confirmed that the IED caused direct injuries to four Israeli soldiers.
The Israeli military had previously reported that four Israelis, including two soldiers, were wounded due to the explosion of a roadside bomb near the Hermesh settlement, located in the northern West Bank.
Israeli media sources indicated that the bomb targeted a vehicle close to the settlement, which is established on lands belonging to the Jenin Governorate.
The Israeli Army Radio reported that the IED was remotely detonated as the vehicle carrying four Israelis approached a farm near the Hermesh settlement.
This incident occurs amidst heightened tensions and violence in the region. Since the ongoing conflict in Gaza erupted on October 7th, Israeli military operations and settler attacks have intensified across the West Bank.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, these actions have resulted in the deaths of 574 Palestinians and injuries to approximately 5,350 others.
