A fire on a dive boat in the Egyptian Red Sea has resulted in the deaths of three British tourists, according to the tour operator organizing the trip.
The incident occurred near the town of Marsa Alam, off the Elphinstone Reef, during a scuba diving holiday.
The fire, which broke out on Sunday, led to the rescue of 12 other passengers and 14 crew members on board the Hurricane dive boat.
The victims were part of a group of 15 experienced divers who were on a week-long stay.
Egyptian authorities have determined that an electrical short circuit caused the fire.
The British holiday company, Scuba Travel, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in this tragic incident.
