Two Syrian army officers were killed in an attack by an unidentified drone on Kuweires Military Airport in eastern Aleppo.

The fallen officers were identified as Colonel Haitham Aref Deeb from Latakia and Lieutenant Colonel Nizar Bahjat Al-Khair from Tartus.

This incident is part of a broader pattern of escalating drone attacks in the region. The Kuweires Military Airport has been a strategic target amid ongoing conflicts in the area.

In recent days, villages and towns in southern and eastern Idlib, near the frontlines, have been subjected to daily drone attacks by the Syrian army, employing explosive-laden drones.

The Kuweires Military Airport, located in eastern Aleppo, has long been a focal point in the Syrian conflict.

The region has seen significant military activity, especially involving drone warfare. The Syrian Civil War, which began in 2011, has led to a highly fragmented and volatile situation, with various factions vying for control.

Drone warfare has become increasingly prominent in the conflict, with both state and non-state actors utilizing drones for reconnaissance and targeted strikes.

The use of drones has introduced a new dynamic to the battlefield, allowing for precise attacks while minimizing direct engagement.

The recent attack on Kuweires Military Airport underscores the persistent instability and the lethal nature of modern warfare in the region.

The ongoing conflict in Idlib, a major stronghold of opposition forces, remains one of the most contested and war-torn areas in Syria.

The Syrian government’s use of drones for daily attacks on Idlib highlights the relentless nature of the conflict and the challenges faced by the local population.

Internationally, the situation in Syria continues to draw significant attention, with various global powers involved either directly or indirectly.

The Syrian conflict remains a critical issue, with ongoing efforts to reach a diplomatic resolution while addressing the humanitarian crisis that has displaced millions and resulted in extensive loss of life.
