Two Hezbollah members were killed on Tuesday in an Israeli airstrike on a car in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese military sources who spoke to Xinhua under anonymity. The sources reported that the members were targeted by an Israeli drone strike on the main road between Baraachit and Beit Yahoun.

The Israeli military also launched seven airstrikes on five border towns and villages in southern Lebanon, targeting 11 towns and villages with 50 shells. In response, Hezbollah announced attacks on several Israeli sites, including the Misgav Am, Ramim, and Ruwaisat al-Alam barracks.

Tensions remain high in Lebanon following the recent killing of Hezbollah senior military commander Fouad Shokor by Israel, with Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah threatening retaliation.

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, in a phone call with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy on Tuesday, urged the international community to support Lebanon during these “difficult circumstances.” Lammy called for an immediate end to the border conflict, emphasizing the need to stop the fighting to maintain stability in the Middle East.
