In an early morning attack on Thursday, Israeli forces bombed a residence in Beit Lahia, North Gaza, resulting in the deaths of 11 Palestinians, including children and women, and injuring others.
According to the Palestinian news agency, Wafa, the bodies of most victims, described as “children and women,” were charred fragments brought to Kamal Adwan Hospital.
The agency further reported that a residential apartment in Tel al-Zaatar, Jabalia refugee camp was also targeted by Israeli strikes, killing and injuring more Palestinians, including children and women.
Additional casualties were reported in southeast Khan Younis, where a mother and her child were killed in their home in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Abu Dukka family’s house.
Wafa also noted that Israeli warplanes conducted intense airstrikes around the Abu Ubaida Cemetery and al-Qastal Towers east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
Similar raids targeted a house west of the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza, wounding many civilians, including children and women.
Artillery shelling targeted the Sabra neighborhood in south Gaza City, injuring many residents.
The day prior, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 25 people in a series of attacks on houses, a school, and tents sheltering displaced individuals across central and southern Gaza, bringing Wednesday’s death toll to 51, with dozens more wounded, according to Wafa.
The Israeli military has directed residents and displaced individuals in several towns in central Gaza, including Deir al-Balah, to evacuate in preparation for an impending attack.
This marks a further reduction in the areas deemed “safe” by the military, intensifying the already dire humanitarian situation in the region.
Avichay Adraee, a spokesperson for the Israeli army, posted on the platform “X” along with a map indicating the specific areas targeted for evacuation, specifically blocks 129 and 130 in the neighborhoods of Al-Mahatta and Deir al-Balah.
