A devastating incident unfolded in the city of Qiqihar, northeastern China, as 11 people lost their lives due to the collapse of a school’s roof.
The disaster occurred on Sunday, leaving 15 others trapped under the debris, desperately awaiting rescue.
According to reports from Chinese media, the incident took place at a secondary school’s sports facility, where a women’s volleyball team was practicing.
As the roof of the building caved in, 15 individuals became trapped. Thankfully, four of them were successfully rescued.
Preliminary information suggests that the roof of the building was compromised due to a violation of renovation regulations, rendering it unable to withstand the heavy rainfall that precipitated the collapse.
