A Russian airstrike on the Ukrainian city of Kherson resulted in the death of one person and injuries to 10 others, according to Roman Mrochko, the head of the Kherson military administration.
Mrochko stated, as reported by the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform, “Since the beginning of today, up until this hour, Russian forces have killed one person and injured 10 others in the Kherson regional community. A man born in 1966 was wounded by an explosive dropped from a drone.”
The victims include a 15-year-old girl, three women aged 39, 40, and 49, and six men aged 41, 58, 59, 61, 62, and 75.
One of the injured is in critical condition, while the others are in stable condition. Mrochko assured that all are receiving necessary medical care.
Additionally, the Russian drone attack in Kherson caused significant damage to electrical equipment, which cannot be replaced at present due to the ongoing security threats in the area, according to Ukrinform.
Kherson, a strategic city in southern Ukraine, has been a focal point of intense military activity since the beginning of Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
The city was occupied by Russian forces for several months before Ukrainian troops successfully recaptured it in November 2022.
However, the area remains under constant threat, with frequent missile and drone strikes causing widespread destruction and civilian casualties.
