World Central Kitchen (WCK) has said it provided over 50 million meals in Gaza and is looking to further expand its operations in the conflict-ridden region.

The aid organization, which temporarily halted its activities in April due to the deaths of seven workers in an Israeli airstrike, now operates two main kitchens and 65 community kitchens across Gaza.

The US-based charity, founded by chef Jose Andres, resumed operations a month after the tragic incident. Last week, nearly 100 trucks carrying essential supplies crossed the border from Egypt to restock the kitchens.

World Central Kitchen is also planning to establish a new supply route in Jordan this week, with the cooperation of local authorities.

The organization aims to distribute both ready-to-eat meal boxes and hot meals in Gaza, working closely with Palestinian partners and volunteers.

The international community has been urging Israel to address the severe hunger crisis in Gaza, which has been exacerbated by the conflict with Hamas.

The ongoing violence has resulted in significant casualties and displacement among the Palestinian population in the enclave.
