WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature called “Filters” to enhance the user experience. With this upcoming feature, users will be able to filter status updates and view them in a vertical list.
According to information from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is introducing a feature that allows users to filter and browse status updates in a vertical list. This feature is currently available for beta testers on Android who need to install version 2.23.24.11 to access it.
This improvement will be particularly beneficial for users who don’t follow specific channels, simplifying the task of accessing silent status updates without the need to navigate to a separate section through the three-dot menu.
What is the new Filter feature coming to WhatsApp?
According to the report, some beta testers may experiment with the new “View All” button to quickly see a vertical list of their status updates. In this section, some beta testers will have access to four filters that work to categorize their status updates more effectively:
All: This filter displays all status updates from your contacts, providing users with a convenient way to quickly catch up on everything their contacts have posted without missing any updates.
Recent: This filter allows users to focus on viewing the latest status updates. It’s especially useful when users want to see the most recent updates from their contacts without scrolling through older posts.
Viewed: This filter is designed to display status updates that have already been viewed, helping users keep track of the content they’ve seen before.
Muted: Particularly useful for managing silent status updates, this filter allows users to check muted updates without them overshadowing their main status updates. It provides a more focused viewing experience by separating silent updates from the main feed.
WhatsApp’s new status filter feature is aimed at improving the usability of the app, making it easier for users to access and manage status updates from their contacts. This feature caters to users who want to have more control over their status feed by categorizing updates into different filters.
As WhatsApp continues to evolve and enhance its user experience, features like these contribute to keeping the app user-friendly and efficient. Users can expect a more organized and streamlined experience when browsing through status updates, which is especially helpful for those with extensive contact lists or who frequently receive status updates from various sources.
