WhatsApp, one of the most widely used messaging applications worldwide, continues to roll out new updates to improve user experience. Just a few days ago, reports emerged that WhatsApp is working on allowing users to connect without sharing their phone numbers and introducing a new dark mode to reduce strain on users’ eyes. Now, reports indicate that the Meta-owned platform will enable users to share music during video calls, according to indiatoday.

A report from WABetaInfo suggests that WhatsApp is fully prepared to elevate the user experience by introducing a new feature that allows users to share audio music during video calls.

According to the report, the feature is currently being tested by beta version users. When a participant in a video call shares their screen, the audio playing on their device will be transmitted to others in the call.

It’s worth noting that this feature is not limited to individual calls; it extends to group video calls as well. This means that users can enjoy a synchronized audio experience in both private and professional conversations.

Furthermore, the feature allows call participants to watch videos together. With the shared audio experience during video calls, users can synchronize their video playback experiences. This opens possibilities for virtual movie watching sessions or collaborative content sharing activities, enhancing the social aspect of the platform.

This feature is expected to be gradually rolled out over the coming weeks, reaching more WhatsApp users on Android devices.

Additionally, WhatsApp is also said to be working on another feature. Soon, users will be able to communicate with each other without needing to share contact details. This feature, expected in a future web client update, will simplify the process of finding and connecting with contacts on the platform.

As part of this feature, WhatsApp users on Android and the web will be able to create a username to personalize their profiles. This will make it easier for them to communicate with friends, family, and contacts using a distinct identifier.
