The White House has announced that President Joe Biden will host British Prime Minister Keir Starmer tomorrow, Wednesday, for a bilateral meeting to discuss a ceasefire in Gaza.
According to a statement on its website, this will be Biden’s first meeting with Prime Minister Starmer. The U.S. President looks forward to reaffirming the special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom.
The statement noted that the leaders would have the opportunity to deeply discuss U.S.-UK cooperation on a variety of issues.
These include supporting Ukraine, promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific region, achieving a ceasefire and a release agreement for detainees in Gaza, and ensuring that Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon.
The statement also mentioned that the two leaders would discuss enhancing the alliance to face threats from the Houthis, emphasizing their discussion on boosting bilateral cooperation in areas such as the protection of advanced technologies and the development of clean energy and climate solutions.
