The US Central Command announced that its forces have successfully destroyed two rocket launch platforms in a Houthi-controlled region of Yemen.

This operation comes amid heightened tensions and recent attacks in the Red Sea.

On Friday, Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for targeting the ship Ioannis in the Red Sea using several unmanned boats, alleging the vessel violated a maritime blockade.

They also reported launching ballistic missiles at the American ship Delonix, hitting it directly.

The Houthis stated that their joint operation employed drones to target the ship Waler en route to Haifa Port for violating the blockade.

Additionally, the Houthis announced four significant military operations, including a collaborative effort with Iraqi factions.

The Red Sea is a critical maritime route that connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Indian Ocean via the Suez Canal, essential for global trade and energy supplies.

Disruptions in this area can have severe implications for international shipping and economic stability.

The ongoing conflict in Yemen, which began in 2014, involves Houthi rebels aligned with Iran and the internationally recognized Yemeni government backed by a Saudi-led coalition.

This war has resulted in a humanitarian crisis with widespread famine, disease, and civilian casualties.

The recent escalation in Houthi attacks, including on commercial and military vessels, underscores the broader regional tensions and the complex geopolitical landscape.
