The Sudanese High Committee for Dealing with the United Nations reiterated the readiness of the Sudanese government to provide all possible assistance and facilitation to achieve social contentment within the framework of laws regulating humanitarian and food-related work.

Dr. Graham Abdul Qadir, the interim spokesperson for the Sudanese High Committee, stated in a press conference that the committee, led by Council of Sovereignty member Brigadier Engineer Mahand Ibrahim Jabir, affirmed the continuation of diplomatic efforts in Sudan to respond to national requirements and state sovereignty.

The meeting discussed several important issues, including the humanitarian situation in Sudan, focusing on efforts to address conditions, particularly in Darfur and war-affected states.

The meeting yielded recommendations and outcomes related to humanitarian interventions, agricultural and productive efforts, as well as national and international humanitarian work, with several organizations making proposals that require further study.

In a statement released last week, the UN Child Rights Committee noted that 24 million Sudanese children are at risk of a generational catastrophe due to severe violations of their rights to life, survival, protection, education, health, and development.

The committee called for an immediate halt to grave violations and the recruitment of children into armed forces, citing repeated attacks on civilians and civilian targets since the conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces began in April 2023.

Reports also raised concerns about children’s access to humanitarian aid, impacting their basic necessities and economic and social rights, with approximately 14 million children in urgent need of humanitarian support and 19 million out of school.
