In a concerning development, a Ukrainian drone strike has reportedly struck an administrative building in the central district of Russia’s southern city of Kursk.
Authorities have confirmed the incident, marking another instance of Ukrainian attacks on Russian cities in recent months as part of Kyiv’s ongoing efforts to counter Moscow’s 19-month offensive.
Kursk, situated approximately 90 kilometers from the Ukraine-Russia border, has now experienced two notable drone-related incidents. The governor of Kursk, Roman Starovoyt, provided information about the latest attack on Telegram, stating that the drone strike had caused slight damage to the building’s roof. Emergency service personnel were deployed to the scene to assess the situation and manage the aftermath.
Just last month, Kursk’s railway station suffered damage from a Ukrainian drone strike, resulting in five injuries and significant structural damage. Both Russia and Ukraine have reported regular drone incursions into each other’s territories, reflecting the ongoing hostilities and the broader conflict dynamics as Ukraine strives to regain control of Russian-held territory. The situation underscores the complex and volatile nature of the ongoing conflict in the region.
