The Ukrainian Air Force declared it successfully neutralized 38 out of 42 drones launched by Russia, targeting approximately 10 regions across Ukraine. This aggressive maneuver led to seven individuals sustaining injuries.

The air strike notably impacted the city of Sumy, located in the northeast of Ukraine, resulting in injuries to seven people, including a 10-year-old boy, as reported by the General Prosecutor’s Office.

This incident follows closely on the heels of Ukraine’s declaration of having destroyed a Russian warship near the Crimea Peninsula, annexed by Moscow in 2014.

Russian forces have been consistently targeting Ukrainian towns and regions far from the frontline, employing explosive drones and guided missiles in almost daily attacks.

On the Russian front, officials and a company owning a significant iron ore plant reported an attack by two Ukrainian drones targeting fuel facilities.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, fortunately did not result in any casualties, and the plant continues to operate normally.

Roman Starovoit, the governor of the Kursk region, specified that a second drone targeted the Mikhailovsky iron ore plant owned by Metalloinvest, Russia’s largest iron ore producer, approximately two hours following the initial strike’s announcement.

Starovoit assured via social media that Russian air defenses were managing the situation and urged the public to remain calm.

An anonymous source from the Ukrainian Military Intelligence Agency, speaking on Wednesday, claimed responsibility for the attack on the Mikhailovsky plant in the Kursk region of Russia.

Unverified footage circulating on Russian Telegram channels showed black smoke billowing into the sky and damage to the plant, presumably following the initial strike.

Ukraine’s military intelligence reported that they had “destroyed” a Russian naval patrol ship in the Black Sea near the Crimea Peninsula and struck an oil depot in Russia’s Belgorod region, bordering Ukraine.

The Black Sea has emerged as an increasingly significant battleground in the war now entering its third year, with Ukrainian forces claiming responsibility for a series of attacks on Moscow’s fleet.
