Ukraine’s Defense Ministry declared on Monday that its air defense units have successfully intercepted and destroyed two thousand Russian missiles since the commencement of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict more than two years ago.
According to a statement released on the “X” website, the ministry attributed this accomplishment to the extensive efforts undertaken by the air defense forces, utilizing modern air defense systems provided by international allies.
While the ministry did not provide specific details regarding the types of missiles intercepted, it emphasized the effectiveness of its air defense infrastructure in safeguarding Ukrainian territories.
Additionally, the ministry underscored the ongoing need for enhanced air defense capabilities to shield civilians from potential threats, particularly as Russian attacks continue to target civilian infrastructure.
The Ukrainian government, led by President Volodymyr Zelensky, has reiterated its appeal to Western allies for further assistance in acquiring advanced air defense systems to bolster the country’s defense capabilities against Russian aggression.
