The UAE and the US have enjoyed over 50 years of diplomatic ties, marked by a diverse and long-standing partnership that benefits both countries.

Focus on the Middle East and Humanitarian Efforts

One of the key regional issues discussed was the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Both Sheikh Mohamed and President

Biden expressed their deep concern about the ongoing conflict and called for immediate steps to stop the violence and allow unhindered access to humanitarian aid.

They acknowledged the joint efforts by the US, Egypt, and Qatar to mediate a ceasefire and work towards the release of hostages from both the Palestinian and Israeli sides.

Sheikh Mohamed praised President Biden’s initiative, stressing the importance of continuing these efforts as a crucial first step towards resuming peace talks.

He emphasized that the ultimate goal is to achieve a comprehensive and just solution to the conflict based on the two-state framework, which would ensure long-term security and stability for the entire region.

A Strong UAE-US Alliance

Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the strong friendship and strategic alliance between the UAE and the US, founded on mutual trust, respect, and shared interests.

He emphasized the UAE’s dedication to working with the US to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East and beyond, while addressing global challenges through multilateral cooperation.

The two leaders concluded their meeting by underscoring the importance of continuing to enhance their strategic relationship, with both countries committed to addressing crises in the region and mitigating humanitarian concerns. They also pledged to support efforts to ensure regional security and stability.

High-Level Delegation in Attendance

The UAE President was accompanied by a high-level delegation that included Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, and Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States.
