These orders from Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan reflect his commitment to mitigating the consequences of the floods on our brothers and sisters in Libya.
The UAE is bolstering its humanitarian role in Libya, providing assistance to those in need and the victims of this catastrophe in various affected areas.
The directives also underscore the UAE’s vital and influential role in enhancing responses to humanitarian issues affecting communities worldwide.

Hamoud Abdullah Al Junaibi, Acting Secretary-General of the UAE Red Crescent Authority, stated that the Authority promptly implemented the instructions of the wise leadership and completed preparations to provide diverse humanitarian aid to those affected in eastern Libya.
An emergency relief aircraft was quickly dispatched from the UAE to Libya, carrying substantial quantities of food, shelter, and other essential necessities.
Yesterday, the UAE Search and Rescue Team arrived in Benghazi, eastern Libya, to assist in addressing the aftermath of the devastating floods resulting from heavy rains, which claimed the lives of dozens and injured others.
This initiative is carried out in compliance with the directives of His Highness the President of the UAE, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to send urgent humanitarian aid and search and rescue teams to Libya.
This classification allows the team to conduct regional and international search and rescue operations in accordance with the relevant requirements, standards, and procedures.
It is worth noting that the torrential floods were caused by heavy rainfall in eastern Libya over the past few days. Libyan authorities have described the situation in the eastern part of the country as catastrophic.
