The United Arab Emirates dispatched a plane carrying 55 tons of relief and medical supplies to aid those affected in Ukraine amidst the ongoing crisis.
The shipment includes over 360 personal electrical generators, 5,000 portable educational computers, winter clothing, blankets, heaters, and medical supplies.
This initiative is part of the UAE’s continuous relief efforts to alleviate the humanitarian challenges faced by Ukrainians due to the current crisis.
The aid will be sent via Poland and then transferred to Ukrainian territory. Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, President of the International Affairs Office at the Presidential Court, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to supporting the Ukrainian people and meeting their essential needs, particularly in education and healthcare.
Sultan Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Development, highlighted that the aid plane includes various relief supplies, especially power generators, blankets, and winter clothing, to help those affected in Ukraine cope with the harsh winter conditions.
The supplies also aim to support the medical and educational sectors in Ukraine.
The UAE, guided by its humanitarian principles, is dedicated to providing essential needs during humanitarian crises, focusing on vulnerable groups such as women, children, and the elderly.
Since the onset of the Ukrainian crisis, the UAE has provided urgent relief supplies, including a $100 million donation for Ukrainian civilians, and initiated an air bridge of relief supplies, including food, medical supplies, electrical generators, ambulances, and other necessities.
The UAE has also transported aid to Ukrainian refugees in neighboring countries like Poland, Moldova, and Bulgaria.
