Secretary-General Guterres acknowledged and praised Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s initiative in establishing a $30 billion fund dedicated to global climate solutions. The fund aims to bridge the climate financing gap and facilitate affordable access to climate-related initiatives.
The meeting delved into the collaborative efforts between the UAE and various UN agencies, with a focus on supporting global peace, climate action, sustainable development, and humanitarian endeavors on both regional and international fronts.
Furthermore, the leaders addressed a spectrum of regional and international issues of mutual concern, placing particular emphasis on the evolving situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. They jointly stressed the imperative for international intervention to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, safeguard civilians, prevent forced displacements, and ensure the secure, continuous, and widespread delivery of humanitarian aid.
