The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, discussed with the Interim Prime Minister of Libya, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, developments in the regional and international political situation.

In a statement, the Libyan unity government highlighted that the two leaders discussed ways to strengthen relations and areas of cooperation between the two countries.

This came on the sidelines of the International Conference on Migration and Development held in Rome on Sunday, 23 July.

The two sides appreciated the resumption of direct air traffic between Libya and the UAE, stressing the need to continue developing relations and enhancing prospects for cooperation between the two countries.

Last February, the Emirati president received Dabaiba at Al-Shati Palace in the capital, Abu Dhabi, and stressed the need to support international efforts to hold elections in Libya.

They also touched upon ways to boost prospects for cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, gas, and investment between the two countries.
