The UAE delegation hosted an exhibition entitled “UAE — Diversified Economy” at its national pavilion at the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS).

The 2023 CIFTIS has seen a high turnout, especially in its Sports Services section. Covering an area of 13,200 square meters, this section hosts six distinct sub-exhibitions.
These highlight various facets of the sports world, from smart sports to sports consumption, and snow sports. It also includes sports equipment production, sports events, and comprehensive sports solutions.
Ge Jun, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports, articulated the section’s primary goal: to foster collaboration within the sports services domain and bridge connections in the international sports sector.
A standout feature of Shougang Park is the Big Air Shougang.
Originally built for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, this ski jump platform is positioned atop a retired steel mill and serves as a lasting tribute to the games.
Furthermore, technological advancements in the country have given birth to the “smart sports” trend, seamlessly merging conventional sports with the latest technologies.
A Statista report titled “Size of smart fitness and sports industry in China 2019-2025” revealed that this industry held a value of 13.4 billion yuan in 2020.
The report anticipates this sector’s valuation to soar to 82 billion yuan by 2025.
The UAE has achieved continuous accomplishments in the space economy sector, which has enhanced the country’s global competitiveness while contributing to the diversification of its economy.
The country’s investment in the space sector has surpassed AED 22 billion, encompassing satellite communications systems, earth and space exploration, data transmission services, satellite broadcasting, and mobile satellite communications, among others.
