The United Arab Emirates continues its humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people in Gaza under the “Gallant Knight 3” initiative, ordered by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

The UAE’s efforts included the delivery of relief aid through 395 aircraft, with 103 aircraft participating in the “Birds of Goodness” airdrop operation.

Additionally, six cargo ships from the UAE and Cyprus delivered aid to El-Arish in Egypt and northern Gaza, transporting a total of 33,000 tons of food, health supplies, and shelter materials. A fleet of 1,243 trucks was mobilized to assist in these efforts.

The “Birds of Goodness” operation alone transported approximately 3,752 tons of relief aid to Gaza. The UAE, in collaboration with the World Central Kitchen, managed to deliver about 300 tons of food aid by sea, distributing it in the northern sector of Gaza.

Moreover, the UAE has installed six water desalination stations in Gaza, capable of producing 1.2 million gallons of water daily, benefiting over 600,000 residents.

Additionally, five automated bakeries opened by the UAE produce about 15,000 loaves of bread per hour, serving 72,000 people, and supply flour to eight other automated bakeries to meet the daily bread needs of 17,140 individuals.

The UAE also announced a $15 million donation to the “Amalthea Fund,” initiated by Cyprus to support a maritime corridor between Cypriot ports and Gaza, enhancing the flow of humanitarian aid and providing flexible funding mechanisms to address the needs of Gaza’s population facing the threat of famine.

A UAE-run field hospital in Rafah, southern Gaza, staffed by over 100 doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and lab technicians, has treated 20,503 cases since its opening in December last year.

Furthermore, the UAE opened a floating hospital off the coast of El-Arish, Egypt, in February, which includes 100 beds and complements the medical services provided by the field hospital in Rafah.

The UAE has also implemented the “Starlink” service to provide urgent medical consultations via video communication at the field hospital.

This ongoing commitment reflects the UAE’s longstanding humanitarian stance towards the Palestinian people, continuing decades of support through various crises and initiatives.
