The UAE is chairing the 114th regular session of the Arab Economic and Social Council (AESC), which will take place from Sunday until Thursday at the General Secretariat of the Arab League. The session will focus on enhancing Arab cooperation in economic and social fields, with the goal of achieving sustainable development across the region.
The session will feature key meetings involving ministers, officials, and experts from various Arab countries to discuss priority issues. Preparatory meetings will begin on Sunday with the Social Committee addressing topics such as the Arab Strategy for Lifetime Education, social support for equity in learning opportunities, and the Arab Decade for Literacy and Adult Education.
The Economic Committee will meet on Monday and Tuesday to discuss the economic agenda, including the 2023 Arab food security report and the implementation of the Arab Programme for Sustainable Food Security and the Agricultural Development Strategy for 2020-2023.
