Tunisian President Kais Saied has reaffirmed his country’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people in their quest for all their rights. In a recent statement, he emphasized that “Palestinian rights do not diminish over time, and Palestine will soon be liberated.”
This declaration was made during President Saied’s visit to wounded individuals from Gaza who are currently receiving treatment in various public hospitals and private clinics in Tunisia, as reported by the Tunisian news agency “Tunis Afrique Presse.”
President Saied underscored that Tunisia’s support for Palestine extends beyond mere demonstrations and slogans to concrete actions. During his visit, he stressed the importance of providing comprehensive care to all the wounded to ensure their safe return to Palestine. He also announced the imminent arrival of a second group of wounded individuals to Tunisia within the next two days.
Further emphasizing his commitment, President Saied highlighted the need for logistical support for these individuals, including computers to prevent disruption in their education and communication devices to maintain contact with their families.
According to the report, a Tunisian military aircraft carrying 39 Palestinians, including 29 injured, had arrived from Egypt’s Al-Arish Airport on Sunday.
The Israeli military recently announced the resumption of combat operations against Hamas in the Gaza Strip on December 1, following the interception of a rocket launched from the area. This action was deemed by Israel as a violation of the temporary humanitarian ceasefire and cessation of hostilities.
Hamas has held the international community, particularly the United States, responsible for the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza.
The announced ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian armed factions, which lasted seven days, ended at 7:00 AM on Friday, December 1. The ceasefire period saw the release of hundreds of detainees and prisoners between the two sides.
