A Tunisian aid plane arrived in Egypt on Friday, carrying 14 tons of food supplies destined for Gaza.

This humanitarian effort is a coordinated effort involving Tunisian authorities, the Tunisian and Egyptian Red Crescent, and Egyptian authorities.

Since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza on October 7, Egypt has consistently endeavored to halt the hostilities and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza. Concurrently, Egypt has been engaged in ongoing, impartial political efforts to negotiate a temporary humanitarian truce that could lead to a permanent ceasefire.

Egypt’s unwavering commitment to supporting Gaza reflects a deep-seated belief that it cannot abandon its Palestinian brothers and sisters.

The steadfast support for Palestine is ingrained in the Egyptian national consciousness and remains a cornerstone of its foreign policy.

In a summit held in Brussels yesterday, European Union (EU) leaders expressed their deep regret over the loss of civilian lives in Gaza, urging all parties involved to take every possible step to protect civilians.

The EU welcomed the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2735, which outlines a comprehensive three-phase ceasefire agreement to end the war in Gaza.

The EU leaders called for the full and immediate implementation of the proposal without delay or preconditions. This includes an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all hostages, and a significant and sustainable increase in humanitarian aid throughout Gaza.

The leaders reiterated the urgent need for unhindered, full, and rapid access to extensive humanitarian aid for Palestinians in need, and the facilitation of effective operations by humanitarian workers and international organizations within Gaza.
